Inspired by Nature
Formed in Clay
Observing the natural world around me, I am captivated by the delicate colours and intricate details I see. Plants ... new growth ... decay ... texture ... light ... shadow ... reflections ... they all inspire my organically shaped work.
Each piece I make is a one-off; the seductive appeal of a handcrafted item. Oh, and sheep appear occassionally!

My Journey with Mud, from washing to Firing
Yes, I really did start my working life washing mud; mud that was millions of years old. Prior to scientific analysis it had to be washed, and that kept me busy for a few months. But as interesting as it was (yes, it really was), the creative fire was burning inside me and soon I moved to a graphic design studio delivering promotional pieces from military tanks to punk album covers.
In 1990 I had the chance to enter the, then brand new, field of showhouse interior design. Having established myself as a lead designer in the field I have designed showhomes from London to Cornwall to Birmingham to Mallorca. For the last 20 years I have been running my own showhome interior design company.
And now my creative journey brings me full circle, back into contact with mud. It arrives pre-washed and ready for my hands to form the organic shapes I see around: coral, plants, sheep, ancient rocks, petals, sheep, fire, and ice. And did I say, sheep?
